Topic

An Introduction to Windows Phone 7 Development

Abstract

This session will cover how to get started developing applications for the Windows Phone 7 platform. We’ll cover using both Visual Studio 2010 as well as Expression Blend 4, and walk through the entire process of designing, constructing, and deploying an app to the Windows Phone Marketplace. At the end of this presentation, you should understand how simple building powerful (and profitable) applications can be.

Speaker

Jeff Blankenburg is an ultra-passionate web developer who works for Microsoft. As a Developer Evangelist, he has the unique responsibility to consult and advise software developers about the new tools, technologies, and practices available to them. Jeff's previous roles as a software developer allowed him to build industry-changing websites and marketing efforts for Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch, Ford Motor Company, Sony, and several major pharmaceutical companies. Through many major speaking engagements and an active, technically-focused blog, Jeff has established himself as a valuable resource to anyone writing software or looking for advice on their next software endeavor.

Grok Talk Topic

Should

Abstract

Should is an open-source library which provides a testing-framework-agnostic set of unit test assertions. It also includes fluent extensions which provide a natural-language interface for consuming the assertions. The library is portable between unit testing frameworks, and the fluent extensions are well-suited to test-driven and behavior-driven testing methodologies.

Speaker

Mel Grubb has been a professional developer since 1995, and a .NET developer from the early days of v1.0. He is currently a consultant for Quick Solutions in Columbus, Ohio. A "gadget geek", Mel likes to focus on identifying and promoting tools and techniques that enhance developer productivity and reduce friction, because our jobs should be interesting and fun, too.
