The July 28th meeting of will be our annual Lighting Talk meeting.
What is a Lightning Talk?
According to Wikipedia, a lightning talk is:
… a short presentation given at a conference or similar forum. Unlike other presentations, lightning talks last only a few minutes and several will usually be delivered in a single period by different speakers
Who can give a lightning talk?
ANYONE!
If you’ve been thinking of getting into speaking, but are not sure that you’re ready for a full-length user group or Code Camp style presentation, lightning talks are a great way to get started. If you’re a seasoned speaker who has a new idea for a talk but want to see if there’s interest a lightning talk is a good way to do some “market research.” We will also have a prize for the best lightning talk So if you want to win stuff, a lightning talk maybe a way to do that!
If you would like to give a 10-15 minute lightning talk at the July CONDG meeting, send an e-mail to contact@condg.org. We will accept talks until the day of the meeting or we have a full schedule (whatever comes first) but talks submitted by July 21st will be listed on the website as part of this months meeting announcement.
